Zhongchao sets up new unit to build internet hospital for patient management

The Chinese health services company Zhongchao, through its subsidiary Shanghai Zhongxin Medical Technology, has established Zhongxin Ningxia, its new company which will set up an Internet hospital for the management of inpatients in China.

Zhongchao said in a press release that the next Zhongxin Internet Hospital will offer all-in-one patient management service, including diagnosis, treatment solutions, treatment engagement management and improvement of life.

By sharing data with inpatients and outpatients, the company envisions the Internet hospital to provide a “more efficient” patient management service and attract business opportunities, such as health insurance, drug sales and recruitment. of patients.

The announcement came a month after Zhongchao launched its Tumor and Rare Disease Patient Management Service, which will also be offered at its upcoming hospital. Based on a previous statement, the service is supported by its online platform MDMOOC which provides information, education and training to healthcare professionals and the Sunshine Health Forums platform which provides healthcare knowledge to the public.

The rapid rise of Internet hospitals in China has been attributed to policies implemented by the National Health Commission in April of last year which have vigorously encouraged its development. As of July 2020, there were around 711 Internet hospitals on the continent, according to a study published in January in the Journal of Medical Internet Research. More than half of these digital institutions, or 421, were created in the past two years, while a third was established in 2020 as an emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2019, Ping An Good Doctor launched its Private Doctor service under an Internet hospital model.

This year in April, BlueCity received a license to run China’s first internet hospital focused on men’s health thanks to He Health. Last week, He Health announced it would introduce more online healthcare services for the rest of the year.

“Zhongchao’s subsidiary, Shanghai Zhongxin Medical Technology, has accumulated extensive experience in outpatient management services. With the implementation of the inpatient management service provided by Zhongxin Internet Hospital, we believe that our all-in-one service would greatly improve the treatment experience of our patients, ”Zhongchao said Chairman and CEO Weiguang Yang.

“We believe that recent favorable trends may further stimulate the development of the inpatient management department of our Zhongxin Internet Hospital,” the company official added.
