Elixir of Colgate, by Colgate-Palmolive (Aids to health and beauty): AmeriStar judges rated this package very high not only for its durability attributes, but also made it the obvious choice for this year’s Best in Show award. It is very rare for the same package to win more than one of the Top 3 honors in the same year in the AmeriStar competition, but the judges called it a truly exceptional package in several respects.
Colgate Elixir is toothpaste reinvented. This award-winning packaging uniquely combines a PET bottle with LiquiGlide technology, allowing the Colgate Palmolive team to use PET with more viscous toothpastes. The cap opening was developed to dispense viscous toothpaste onto a toothbrush while allowing air to enter the bottle, allowing the toothpaste to flow smoothly. Designed for recyclability, including a thick-walled PET-E cap to provide premium aesthetics while maintaining compatibility with the recyclability stream of PET. The label is a combined printed PS label, 4 colors with both matt and gloss varnish, as well as two applications of cold foil and a back label printed on the reverse side. The bottle itself is produced by a one-step ISBM process and assembled with an injection-molded PP shoulder shell and a thick-walled PET-E cap.

â¢ 100% plastic-free and 100% recyclable secondary packaging from GSK Launching the toothbrush, by GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare. (Winner of health and beauty aids)
GSK’s very first 100% plastic-free and 100% recyclable secondary packaging toothbrush launch is disrupting the toothbrush department with an aesthetic, user-friendly, innovative and fully sustainable concept. This double pack of toothbrushes consists of a color matched thermoformed PaperFoam tray that is compostable and recyclable in the waste paper stream. It is heat sealed to an SBS NatraLockÂ® UltraSeal printed top card designed to be used as a replacement for the plastic shell, while maximizing shelf appeal and improving durability. The top card has a cutout window glued with a transparent compostable heat-sealable cellulose film, allowing the consumer to see the product. Finally, on the back of the cellulose tray are two paper-based labels, also plastic-free.
